Dutch on Vittek’s radar

Slovakia midfielder Robert Vittek claims they have ‘nothing to lose’ ahead of their World Cup last-16 clash against Holland (Slovakia 7/1, Holland 2/5, draw 63/20 World Cup Match with bwin) in Durban on Monday afternoon.

Vittek was a stand-out performer for his country last Thursday with a brace of goals as they stunned reigning world champions Italy 3-2 in their final group game in Johannesburg.

It meant Slovakia progressed to the second round of the tournament behind group winners Paraguay and set up a meeting with the Dutch.

Vittek is now looking forward to facing Holland and adding to his three goals in the tournament (2/1 To Score A Goal In The Match with bwin) as he claims the pressure is off them.

“There will be a lot more pressure on Holland because they have to deliver and we have nothing to lose. For us it will be a completely new experience,” he said.

“We are not thinking about the result, we only have a chance to win if we manage to play as we played against Italy.

“For us it’s just great to play at a World Cup and against an opponent like Holland.”
