Paco Boy aiming for Ascot double

Paco boy heads into Royal Ascot on Tuesday looking to record back-to-back victories in the Queen Anne Stakes in a rich vein of form (Paco Boy 7/2 with Betfair.com to win the Queen Anne Stakes).

However, Richard Hannon’s charge faces a tough test in the shape of French mare Goldikova, the 15/8 favourites with Betfair, while Rip Van Winkle (100/30) is also heavily fancied ahead of the race.

Paco Boy has been in fine form of late winning the bet365 Mile at Sandown and Newbury’s Lockinge Stakes, but he was beaten by Rip Van Winkle is the Sussex Stakes.

Zacito will also race in the 14.30 at Ascot on Tuesday, another horse Rip Van Winkle has beaten this year, and at 31/1 remains an outsider to emerge victorious in the Queen Anne Stakes.

Calming Influence, Cat Junior, Pipedreamer, Dalghar, Ouqba and Dream Eater complete the field, while Alexandros and Arabian Gleam were the only withdrawals at the final declaration stage.
