Dunlop outlines Green Moon plans

Harry Dunlop says he is ready to unleash three-year-old Green Moon at York on the Knavesmire on July 24.

Green Moon has not run since Royal Ascot but looks certain to go in the York Stakes later this month as he tries to fulfil his early potential with some more big victories.

Dunlop’s charge won a Leicester maiden back in April then followed that up with victories in a Newmarket-Listed race and a valuable Newbury handicap to raise expectations.

Dar Re Mi hopes to be singing

John Gosden believes that 3/1 second favourite with bet365 Dar Re Mi will be at her peak for Saturday’s Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.

The last time Andrew Lloyd Webber’s horse competed at Sandown she was successful in the Dubai Sheema Classic and Gosden believes that her recent break will do her good.

Over bowling for Eclipse success

There is only 24 hours until the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown and Henry Cecil is hoping that Twice Over (2/1f) gets through the race trouble-free.

The five-year-old was somewhat unlucky at Royal Ascot, finding it difficult to get past a bunched up field in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes. However, he did manage to narrowly finish second to Byword.

Cecil has been delighted with the horse’s form since then and hopes that the Coral-Eclipse will represent compensation for narrowly missing out at Ascot.

Langtry set for Falmouth battle

Lillie Langtry is the 2/1 favourite to win the Etihad Airways Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday and will go head-to-head with Special Duty.

Special Duty, who 11/4 second favourite, has won both the English and French 1000 Guineas, while Lillie Langtry impressed and looked back to her best when winning the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Rumoush plan still unclear

Marcus Tregoning says he is yet to make a decision as to which race is next for Rumoush, with a choice between the Irish Oaks or Yorkshire Oaks (1.2 in ante post market).

The filly has impressed so far this year, winning the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket in April, before a creditable fourth in the Oaks at Epsom behind Snow Fairy.

Rumoush, who was seventh in last month’s 1000 Guineas, could now face her Epsom rivals in Ireland on July 18 although a run at York has not been ruled out.

Murtagh waits on Irish Derby choice

Johnny Murtagh still has to decide whether to ride Cape Blanco, who is 15/8 favourite with bet365, in Sunday’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh.

Murtagh’s other option is Jan Vermeer, who is 4/1 in the betting. Aidan O’Brien, who trains both horses, admits that it will be a tough decision for the jockey.

Workforce to miss Irish derby

Derby winner Workforce will not race in the Irish Derby but he has been pencilled in for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on July 24.

Khalid Abdullah’s racing manager, Teddy Grimthorpe, is trying to plot the best course for the colt ahead of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October (Workforce 3/1f with bet365).

Grimthorpe said: “He’s a big, scopey horse and we want to give him that bit more time for the King George.

O'Brien eyes Jubilee victory

Starspangledbanner is 6/1 favourite with bet365 to win Saturday’s Golden Jubilee Stakes and trainer Aidan O’Brien is expecting him to shine.

The Australian colt has been impressing Down Under recently and also showed his promise when finishing fifth in the Duke of York Stakes at York.
